"Improved" Hotmail is the pits

Without warning, Microsoft upgraded my Hotmail account. The new version is practically unusable. I want to revert to the "classic" version, but can't find out how. I've faxed Bill Gates and other executives, but have never gotten any answer. If I can't use Hotmail, I'd like to update all my emails to my NetZero account, but know how to do that.

Spammers Choose GMail

A study by Roaring Penguin has discovered that during the past three weeks, the amount of spam originating from Gmail has risen sharply while spam originating from Yahoo and Hotmail remained flat or dipped slightly. Experts say this huge rise in spam is thanks to the cracking of Google’s CAPTCHA system.

Dmitri Alperovitch talks about reputation-based spam protection

Reputation-based security is very similar to what the financial
services industry has created with credit agencies. Every person who has ever
paid a bill or used a credit card has a credit score-a credit reputation, if
you will. When you want to buy a new car, the finance company looks at your
reputation, and then decides whether or not to let you past the gates and give
you some money. We now have the same thing for people who send emails.

AISO founders envisioned a Web hosting company that was environmentally friendly. While the company employed energy-efficient innovations like solar panels, its infrastructure produced unacceptable power and cooling requirements. Find out how AISO leveraged AMD technology to overcome their challenge in this case study white paper.

In this whitepaper, Scalar explores the opportunity to change the landscape with respect to mission critical databases built around Oracle. Leveraging technologies such as Linux, high-end commodity processing power and Oracle RAC technology to architect, design, build and maintain database infrastructure that delivers maximum availability, reliability and performance at a fraction of traditional cost.

On a typical day, weather.com, the Web site for The Weather Channel in Atlanta, serves up between 15 million and 20 million page views. But in September 2004, when back-to-back hurricanes ransacked Florida, the peak traffic on one day more than tripled: over 70 million page views by more than 7 million unique visitors.
