Wii storage solution coming, 'better' than a hard drive
Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime, always the outspoken gaming exec, on Monday teased that Nintendo was indeed working on a Wii storage solution, with the cryptic caveat that it would be "better than" a hard drive.
The remarks came in an interview with a Latin American publication, which was graciously translated and corroborated by Nintendo fan site GoNintendo. In the interview, Fils-Aime poured cold water on the Wii hard drive rumors--effectively killing them off for good--and said the company will come up with something better.
Wired's Chris Kohler notes that the best solution would be to "just integrate the SD card reader that's already in the Wii into the console's available storage, treating it as if it were a seamless extension of the flash memory inside each console."
It would be an inexpensive fix, and would surely be welcomed by the many Wii owners who no doubt purchased large SD cards already.
Additionally, in that same interview, Nintendo development guru Shigeru Miyamoto reconfirmed that the slew of Nintendo first party Wii accessories is officially over.

Will the wii accept a card over 8 gig, i mean wat the hell? Nintendo just likes to piss people off. If they are such a penny pincher y doesn't nintendo make its own special wii harddrive. It could varry in size and only work with the wii.Why would u need more memory
Why would u need more memory that 8 gig at a time? If u need more memory buy 2 or more if needed. Rather buy an SD card than a hard driveI buy everything on VC and
